Hole in My Life | Jack Gantos

The prisoner in the photograph is me. The ID number is mine. The photo was taken in 1972 at the medium-security Federal Correctional Institution in Ashland, Kentucky. I was twenty-one years old and had been locked up for a year already -the bleakest year of my life-and I had more time ahead of me

Full Book- This book was interesting read, though it felt very long and drawn out. The biography is written about his early childhood, which he tends to be a prankster. The author looks at Arnold in a fair and positive way for most of the book.

Full Book- This book was a great read. The summary of the book is that the dad who is interested in sports tries to get his son interested in sports as well. Garvey has the talent of singing. Garvey is often bullied through school and singing allows him to escape from this. I believe the author also does a great job of not stereotyping the main character.

When I left her office, I felt like she'd gut-punched me, brushed me off, slapped me back and forth, gave me a cool compress to put on my cheeks, cold-cocked me with a stiff uppercut to the jaw, picked me up, brushed me off again, then kicked me in the seat of my pants as she handed me a piece of cake and showed me the door.

Full Book- This book was an interesting read. Two children one black and one white have come together because of their interest of a mysterious man in the woods. This story has elements of the story that act real, like the way the kids connect to each other. They connect because of their interest. The color of their skin does not separate them.
